‘ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,

是時必承己愆、及前人之罪、自認所行逆我、

如其能任己愆、及前人之罪、自知差失、所行逆我、

彼時必認己之罪、及其列祖之罪、即干我逆我以行之罪、

“‘ But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,

“‘ But suppose you admit that both you and your people who lived before you have sinned. You admit the evil and dishonest things you have done against me. And you admit you have become my enemy.

“ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me,

“ But at last my people will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors for betraying me and being hostile toward me.

“ But when they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness that they practiced against me, and how they acted with hostility toward me,

‘ But if they confess their wrongdoing and the wrongdoing of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me—

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary unto me,

“ But if they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers— their unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, and how they acted with hostility toward Me,

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

However, when they confess their iniquity and their ancestors’ iniquity which they committed by trespassing against me, by which they also walked in hostility against me

“‘ If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

“ Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you,and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you.

“ When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this temple,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.

yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying,‘ We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’;

I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight.

‘ And after all this, if you do not obey Me, but walk contrary to Me,then I also will walk contrary to you in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

Now Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, I beg you, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

‘ Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.

I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said,“ I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.

Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.Then Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani stood on the stairs of the Levites and cried out with a loud voice to the Lord their God.And the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said:“ Stand up and bless the Lord your God Forever and ever!“ Blessed be Your glorious name, Which is exalted above all blessing and praise!

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice( for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

“ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself:‘ You have chastised me, and I was chastised, Like an untrained bull; Restore me, and I will return, For You are the Lord my God.Surely, after my turning, I repented; And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh; I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.

Then he looks at men and says,‘ I have sinned, and perverted what was right, And it did not profit me.’He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, And his life shall see the light.

then he shall confess the sin which he has committed. He shall make restitution for his trespass in full, plus one-fifth of it, and give it to the one he has wronged.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say:‘ return, backsliding Israel,’ says the Lord;‘ I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,’ says the Lord;‘ I will not remain angry forever.Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the Lord your God, And have scattered your charms To alien deities under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ says the Lord.“ Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord;“ for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said,“ O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.“ O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him.And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.“ As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.Therefore the Lord has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice.And now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and made Yourself a name, as it is this day— we have sinned, we have done wickedly!“ O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us.Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate.O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God,

I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
