‘ But if they confess their wrongdoing and the wrongdoing of their forefathers, in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me—

是時必承己愆、及前人之罪、自認所行逆我、

如其能任己愆、及前人之罪、自知差失、所行逆我、

彼時必認己之罪、及其列祖之罪、即干我逆我以行之罪、

“‘ But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,

“‘ But suppose you admit that both you and your people who lived before you have sinned. You admit the evil and dishonest things you have done against me. And you admit you have become my enemy.

“ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me,

“ But at last my people will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors for betraying me and being hostile toward me.

“ But when they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their ancestors— their unfaithfulness that they practiced against me, and how they acted with hostility toward me,

‘ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary unto me,

“ But if they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers— their unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, and how they acted with hostility toward Me,

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

However, when they confess their iniquity and their ancestors’ iniquity which they committed by trespassing against me, by which they also walked in hostility against me

“‘ If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,

One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.

“ So it will be when all of these things have come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have placed before you, and you call them to mind in all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you,and you return to the Lord your God and obey Him with all your heart and soul in accordance with everything that I am commanding you today, you and your sons,then the Lord your God will restore you from captivity, and have compassion on you, and will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.

“ When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and implore Your favor in this house,then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave their fathers.“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and praise Your name, and turn from their sin when You afflict them,then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and Your people Israel; indeed, teach them the good way in which they are to walk. And provide rain on Your land, which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.

if they take it to heart in the land where they have been taken captive, and repent and implore Your favor in the land of those who have taken them captive, saying,‘ We have sinned and done wrong, we have acted wickedly’;

I will go away and return to My place Until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face; In their distress they will search for Me.“ Come, let’s return to the Lord. For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day, That we may live before Him.

‘ Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me,then I will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I for My part will punish you seven times for your sins.

Then Joshua said to Achan,“ My son, I implore you, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and give praise to Him; and tell me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.”

‘ Yet if you show hostility toward Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you seven times according to your sins.

I acknowledged my sin to You, And I did not hide my guilt; I said,“ I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

then I in turn will show hostility toward you; and I, even I, will strike you seven times for your sins.

Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your wrongdoings and your abominations.

The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and they stood and confessed their sins and the wrongdoings of their fathers.While they stood in their place, they read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.Now on the Levites’ platform stood Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and they cried out with a loud voice to the Lord their God.Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah said,“ Arise, bless the Lord your God forever and ever! May Your glorious name be blessed And exalted above all blessing and praise!

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.When you are in distress and all these things happen to you, in the latter days you will return to the Lord your God and listen to His voice.For the Lord your God is a compassionate God; He will not abandon you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.

I have certainly heard Ephraim grieving,‘ You have disciplined me, and I was corrected, Like an untrained calf; Bring me back that I may be restored, For You are the Lord my God.For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the shame of my youth.’Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will certainly have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

He will sing to people and say,‘ I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.He has redeemed my soul from going to the pit, And my life will see the light.’

then he shall confess his sin which he has committed, and he shall make restitution in full for his wrong and add to it a fifth of it, and give it to him whom he has wronged.

Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say,‘ Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord;‘ I will not look at you in anger. For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;‘ I will not be angry forever.Only acknowledge your wrongdoing, That you have revolted against the Lord your God, And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every leafy tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares the Lord.‘ Return, you faithless sons,’ declares the Lord;‘ For I am a master to you, And I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, And bring you to Zion.’“ Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you knowledge and understanding.

So I gave my attention to the Lord God, to seek Him by prayer and pleading, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed, and said,“ Oh, Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and faithfulness for those who love Him and keep His commandments,we have sinned, we have done wrong, and acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders, our fathers, and all the people of the land.“ Righteousness belongs to You, Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.Open shame belongs to us, Lord, to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against Him;and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.Indeed, all Israel has violated Your Law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has gushed forth on us, along with the oath which is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.So He has confirmed His words which He had spoken against us and against our rulers who ruled us, to bring on us great disaster; for under the entire heaven there has not been done anything like what was done in Jerusalem.Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us; yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our wrongdoing and giving attention to Your truth.So the Lord has kept the disaster in store and brought it on us; for the Lord our God is righteous with respect to all His deeds which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.“ And now, Lord, our God, You who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made a name for Yourself, as it is this day— we have sinned, we have been wicked.Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the wrongdoings of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become an object of taunting to all those around us.So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your servant and to his pleas, and for Your sake, Lord, let Your face shine on Your desolate sanctuary.My God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our pleas before You based on any merits of our own, but based on Your great compassion.Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”While I was still speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God,

I will set out and go to my father, and will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight;I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired laborers.” ’
