I, in turn, will do this to you: I will summon a sudden terror against you, consumption and fever that will make the eyes fail and the soul languish; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it.

那麼我也就要這樣待你們；我必派驚惶、派癆病熱病、突然襲擊你們，使你們眼目失明、精神消損。你們必白白撒種，因為你們的仇敵必喫你們所種的。

我必加以威烈、使爾身癆體熱、以致目盲神敗、播種徒勞、為敵所食、

我將使爾觳觫、身癆體瘧、以致心憂目盲、播種徒勞、為敵所食。

我必懲罰爾、降爾以可驚之災、患癆患熱、致目倦心傷、播種徒勞、必為敵所食、

then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.

Then here is what I will do to you. All at once I will bring terror on you. I will send sicknesses that will make you weak. I will send fever that will destroy your sight. It will slowly take your strength away. When you plant seeds, it will not do you any good. Instead, your enemies will eat what you have planted.

So He brought their days to an end in futility, And their years to an end in sudden terror.

For whenever Israel had sown, the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the people of the east and march against them.So they would camp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel, nor a sheep, ox, or donkey.For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, they would come in like locusts in number, and both they and their camels were innumerable; and they came into the land to ruin it.So Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord.

“ Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what you have said:“ Surely our offenses and our sins are upon us, and we are rotting away in them; how then can we survive?” ’

They will devour your harvest and your food; They will devour your sons and your daughters; They will devour your flocks and your herds; They will devour your vines and your fig trees; They will demolish your fortified cities, in which you trust, with the sword.

Furthermore, it will eat the offspring of your herd and the produce of your ground until you are destroyed; a nation that will leave you no grain, new wine, or oil, nor the newborn of your cattle or the young of your flock, until they have eliminated you.

The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has eliminated you from the land where you are entering to take possession of it.The Lord will strike you with consumption, inflammation, fever, feverish heat, and with the sword, with blight, and with mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.

You will sow but you will not harvest. You will tread the olive press but will not anoint yourself with oil; And tread out sweet wine, but you will not drink any wine.

The wicked person writhes in pain all his days, And the years reserved for the ruthless are numbered.Sounds of terror are in his ears; While he is at peace the destroyer comes upon him.

Their widows will be more numerous before Me Than the sand of the seas; I will bring against them, against the mother of a young man, A destroyer at noon; I will suddenly bring down on her Shock and horror.

Outside the sword will make them childless, And inside, terror— Both young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hair.

How they are destroyed in a moment! They are utterly swept away by sudden terrors!

For this is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, I am going to make you a horror to yourself and to all your friends; and while your eyes look on, they will fall by the sword of their enemies. So I will hand all Judah over to the king of Babylon, and he will take them away as exiles to Babylon and will kill them with the sword.

All around sudden terrors frighten him, And harass him at every step.

Now this will be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue will rot in their mouth.

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Among those nations you will find no peace, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul.So your lives will be hanging in doubt before you; and you will be terrified night and day, and have no assurance of your life.In the morning you will say,‘ If only it were evening!’ And at evening you will say,‘ If only it were morning!’ because of the terror of your heart which you fear, and the sight of your eyes which you will see.

And He said,“ If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.”

Appoint a wicked person over him, And may an accuser stand at his right hand.

They will not build and another inhabit, They will not plant and another eat; For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people, And My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands.They will not labor in vain, Or give birth to children for disaster; For they are the descendants of those blessed by the Lord, And their descendants with them.It will also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen.

Then the angel of the Lord came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites.

Nothing remains but to crouch among the captives Or fall among those killed. In spite of all this, His anger does not turn away And His hand is still stretched out.
