「很久以前，我折斷你的軛，解開你的捆索，你卻拒絕事奉我，在各高崗上、綠樹下躺臥淫亂。

因為以色列人是我的僕人，是我從埃及領出來的僕人。我是你們的上帝耶和華。

豈不知你們的身體就是聖靈的殿嗎？你們裡面住著上帝所賜的聖靈。你們不再屬於自己，因為你們是上帝用重價買來的，所以你們要用自己的身體使祂得榮耀。

「我卸下了你肩上的重擔，使你的雙手不再做苦工，你在苦難中向我呼求，我就拯救了你，從雷聲隆隆的密雲中應允了你。我在米利巴泉邊考驗你。（細拉）我的子民啊，要聽我的警告。以色列人啊，但願你們聽從我的話。你們斷不可供奉別的神明，也不可向外族的神明下拜，我是你們的上帝耶和華，曾把你們帶出埃及。張開你們的口吧，我必使你們飽足。

我必把這杯給苦待你的人，他們曾對你說，『趴下，我們好從你身上走過。』你曾把你的背當作地面，當作街道任人踐踏。」

因為以色列人是我的僕人，是我從埃及帶出來的，所以他們不可賣身為奴。
