“‘ If your brother becomes poor, and sells some of his possessions, then his kinsman who is next to him shall come, and redeem that which his brother has sold.

浸假宗族貧乏、鬻其田疇、親戚贖之亦可。

若爾同族人、同族人原文作兄弟下同因貧乏而鬻其業、有本族人來代贖、則任其贖本族人所鬻者、

“‘ If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative is to come and redeem what they have sold.

“‘ Suppose one of your own people becomes poor. And suppose they have to sell some of their land. Then their nearest relative must come and buy back what they have sold.

“ If your brother becomes poor and sells part of his property, then his nearest redeemer shall come and redeem what his brother has sold.

If one of your fellow Israelites falls into poverty and is forced to sell some family land, then a close relative should buy it back for him.

If your brother becomes destitute and sells part of his property, his nearest relative may come and redeem what his brother has sold.

‘ If a fellow countryman of yours becomes so poor that he sells part of his property, then his closest redeemer is to come and buy back what his relative has sold.

‘ If one of your brethren becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and if his redeeming relative comes to redeem it, then he may redeem what his brother sold.

If thy brother be waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him come, and shall redeem that which his brother hath sold.

If your brother becomes destitute and sells part of his property, his nearest relative may come and redeem what his brother has sold.

If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath sold away[ some] of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.

“‘ If your brother becomes impoverished and sells some of his property, his near redeemer is to come to you and redeem what his brother sold.

Naomi said to her daughter- in- law,“ May he be blessed by Yahweh, who has not abandoned his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Naomi said to her,“ The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen.”

‘ Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you, saying,“ Buy my field that is in Anathoth; for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.”’”“ So Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to Yahweh’s word, and said to me,‘ Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours. Buy it for yourself.’“ Then I knew that this was Yahweh’s word.

Now it is true that I am a near kinsman. However, there is a kinsman nearer than I.

He said,“ Who are you?” She answered,“ I am Ruth your servant. Therefore spread the corner of your garment over your servant; for you are a near kinsman.”

I thought I should tell you, saying,‘ Buy it before those who sit here, and before the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know. For there is no one to redeem it besides you; and I am after you.” He said,“ I will redeem it.”Then Boaz said,“ On the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must buy it also from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance.”The near kinsman said,“ I can’t redeem it for myself, lest I endanger my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption for yourself; for I can’t redeem it.”

Now isn’t Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he will be winnowing barley tonight on the threshing floor.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

They sang a new song, saying,“ You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

Again,“ I will put my trust in him.” Again,“ Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me.”Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
