“‘ If one of your fellow Israelites becomes poor and sells some of their property, their nearest relative is to come and redeem what they have sold.

“‘ Suppose one of your own people becomes poor. And suppose they have to sell some of their land. Then their nearest relative must come and buy back what they have sold.

“ If your brother becomes poor and sells part of his property, then his nearest redeemer shall come and redeem what his brother has sold.

If one of your fellow Israelites falls into poverty and is forced to sell some family land, then a close relative should buy it back for him.

If your brother becomes destitute and sells part of his property, his nearest relative may come and redeem what his brother has sold.

‘ If a fellow countryman of yours becomes so poor that he sells part of his property, then his closest redeemer is to come and buy back what his relative has sold.

‘ If one of your brethren becomes poor, and has sold some of his possession, and if his redeeming relative comes to redeem it, then he may redeem what his brother sold.

And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed[ be] he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man[ is] near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.

Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that[ is] in Anathoth: for the right of redemption[ is] thine to buy[ it].So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that[ is] in Anathoth, which[ is] in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance[ is] thine, and the redemption[ is] thine; buy[ it] for thyself. Then I knew that this[ was] the word of the LORD.

And now it is true that I[ am thy] near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.

And he said, Who[ art] thou? And she answered, I[ am] Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou[ art] a near kinsman.

And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy[ it] before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem[ it], redeem[ it]: but if thou wilt not redeem[ it, then] tell me, that I may know: for[ there is] none to redeem[ it] beside thee; and I[ am] after thee. And he said, I will redeem[ it].Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy[ it] also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem[ it] for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem[ it].

And now[ is] not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
