“‘ The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.

“‘ The land must not be sold without a way of getting it back. That is because it belongs to me. You are only outsiders and strangers in my land.

Dearly beloved, I beseech[ you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I[ am] a stranger with thee,[ and] a sojourner, as all my fathers[ were].

The earth[ is] the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

For we[ are] strangers before thee, and sojourners, as[ were] all our fathers: our days on the earth[ are] as a shadow, and[ there is] none abiding.

Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it[ to be] a proverb and a byword among all nations.

And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout[ all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Rejoice, O ye nations,[ with] his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land,[ and] to his people.

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and[ for] my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

And they shall not sell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: for[ it is] holy unto the LORD.

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach[ even] to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

I[ am] a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
