You may ask,“ What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not plant or harvest our crops?”

Suppose you say,“ In the seventh year we will not plant anything or gather our crops. So what will we eat?”

And if you say,‘ What shall we eat in the seventh year, if we may not sow or gather in our crop?’

But you might ask,‘ What will we eat during the seventh year, since we are not allowed to plant or harvest crops that year?’

If you wonder,‘ What will we eat in the seventh year if we don’t sow or gather our produce?’

But if you say,“ What are we going to eat in the seventh year if we do not sow nor gather in our produce?”

‘ And if you say,“ What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?”

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;

If you wonder:‘ What will we eat in the seventh year if we don’t sow or gather our produce?’

And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase:

If you say,‘ What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not sow and gather our produce?’

If you said,“ What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;”

And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.

But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.

They spoke against God; they said,“ Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread? Can he supply meat for his people?”

Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth! For the Lord has spoken:“ I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me.

Amaziah asked the man of God,“ But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite troops?” The man of God replied,“ The Lord can give you much more than that.”

He replied,“ You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city.“ Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.“ Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered.“ Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”And Elisha prayed,“ Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

“ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?“ And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you— you of little faith?So do not worry, saying,‘ What shall we eat?’ or‘ What shall we drink?’ or‘ What shall we wear?’For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said,“ If only we had meat to eat!

Where can I get meat for all these people? They keep wailing to me,‘ Give us meat to eat!’

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,“ Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”So we say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God,“ Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?”“ You will see it with your own eyes,” answered Elisha,“ but you will not eat any of it!”
