The Lord said to Moses at Mount Sinai,

These things are being taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery— this is Hagar.Now Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

The LORD spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai, on the first day of the second month of the second year after Israel’s departure from the land of Egypt:

During the second year, in the second month on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was lifted up above the tabernacle of the testimony.The Israelites traveled on from the Wilderness of Sinai, moving from one place to the next until the cloud stopped in the Wilderness of Paran.

In the third month from the very day the Israelites left the land of Egypt, they came to the Sinai Wilderness.
