Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

seeing it is God who said,“ Light will shine out of darkness,” who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

and God’s lamp hadn’t yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in Yahweh’s temple where God’s ark was,Yahweh called Samuel. He said,“ Here I am.”

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.

He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lamp stand, as Yahweh commanded Moses.This was the workmanship of the lamp stand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work. He made the lamp stand according to the pattern which Yahweh had shown Moses.

The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple.

Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.”

Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.

He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
