On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees— from palms, willows and other leafy trees— and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.

And they found it written in the Law that the Lord had commanded by Moses that the people of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,and that they should proclaim it and publish it in all their towns and in Jerusalem,“ Go out to the hills and bring branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees to make booths, as it is written.”So the people went out and brought them and made booths for themselves, each on his roof, and in their courts and in the courts of the house of God, and in the square at the Water Gate and in the square at the Gate of Ephraim.And all the assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made booths and lived in the booths, for from the days of Jeshua the son of Nun to that day the people of Israel had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

“ Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice with her in joy, all you who mourn over her;

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
