On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees— from palms, willows and other leafy trees— and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.

On the first day you must get branches from palms, willows and other leafy trees. You must be filled with joy in front of the Lord your God for seven days.

And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.

On the first day gather branches from magnificent trees— palm fronds, boughs from leafy trees, and willows that grow by the streams. Then celebrate with joy before the Lord your God for seven days.

住棚节期间，你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇一起欢庆。要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方，为祂守住棚节七天；要满心欢喜，因为你们的上帝耶和华赐福你们，使你们的出产丰富、凡事顺利。

你们要靠主常常喜乐！我再说，你们要喜乐！

当时，他们发现耶和华借摩西吩咐的律法上记载，以色列人要在七月节期期间住在棚子里，并且要在他们的各城邑和耶路撒冷宣布：“你们要上山取橄榄树、野橄榄树、番石榴树、棕榈树和其他茂密树木的枝子，照着所规定的搭棚。”于是，民众都出去取来树枝，在自家的屋顶上、庭院里、上帝殿的院子里、水门的广场上和以法莲门的广场上搭棚。从流亡之地归回的民众都搭起棚子，住在里面。从嫩的儿子约书亚时代直到那天，以色列人从没有这样做过。民众非常欢喜。

就拿着棕树枝出去迎接祂，并且高声欢呼：“和散那！奉主名来的以色列王当受称颂！”

同样，现在你们有忧愁，但到我再见你们的时候，你们的心必欢喜，而且这份喜乐是谁也夺不去的。

耶和华救赎的子民必欢唱着回到锡安，洋溢着永远的快乐。他们必欢喜快乐，忧愁和叹息都消失无踪。

你们虽然没有见过基督，却爱祂；虽然现在看不见祂，却信祂，并且有无法形容、充满荣耀的喜乐。

“爱耶路撒冷的人啊，要与她一同欢喜，为她高兴。为她悲哀的人啊，要与她尽情欢乐。

后来我又看见一大群人，多得不可胜数。他们来自各国家、各部落、各民族、各语言族群，身穿白袍，手拿棕树枝，站在宝座和羔羊面前，

不但如此，我们借着主耶稣基督与上帝和好之后，还要借着祂在上帝面前欢喜。

因为真正受割礼的人是我们这些靠着上帝的灵敬拜、以基督耶稣为荣、不倚靠自身条件的人。

许多人把衣服铺在路上，也有些人砍下树枝铺在路上。

义人必如生机勃勃的棕榈树，像茁壮生长的黎巴嫩香柏树。
