“要记念安息日，守为圣日。六日要劳碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是耶和华你的神的安息日；这一日，你和你的儿女，你的仆婢和牲畜，以及住在你城里的寄居者，不可作任何的工。因为耶和华在六日之内造天、地、海和其中的万物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和华赐福安息日，定为圣日。

于是约西亚送出绵羊羔和山羊羔共三万只，还有公牛三千头，给所有在场的人民作逾越节的祭牲；这些都是取自王的财产。约西亚手下的众领袖也自愿把祭牲送给人民、祭司和利未人；又有神殿的总管希勒家、撒迦利亚和耶歇，也把羔羊二千六百只和公牛三百头，送给祭司作逾越节的祭牲。

各人要孝敬父母，也要谨守我的安息日；我是耶和华你们的神。

当一些族长到达耶路撒冷耶和华殿的原址的时候，就为神的殿甘心献上礼物，要把殿在原址重建起来。他们按照自己的力量奉到工程库里的，有金子五百公斤和银子两千八百公斤，以及祭司的礼服一百件。

不但这样，因我爱慕我神的殿，就在我为建造圣殿预备的一切以外，又把我自己积蓄的金银献给我神的殿：就是俄斐金一百多公吨，精炼的银子约两百四十公吨，用来贴殿里的墙壁；金子做金器，银子做银器，以及匠人手所作的各样巧工。今日有谁愿意奉献给耶和华呢？”于是各家族的领袖、以色列各支派的领袖、千夫长、百夫长和管理王的事务的领袖，都乐意奉献。为了神殿里的需用，他们奉献了金子一百七十多公吨，银子三百四十多公吨，铜约六百二十公吨和铁三千四百公吨。有宝石的，都交到耶和华殿这库房，由革顺人耶歇经办。

第七日，神完成了他所作的工；在第七日神歇了他所作的一切工。神赐福第七日，把它分别为圣，因为在这一日，神停了他一切所创造的工，歇息了。
