“‘ There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.

“‘ There are six days when you can work. But the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest. You must rest on it. Come together on that sacred day. You must not do any work on it. No matter where you live, it is a Sabbath day to honor the Lord.

“ Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

“ You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.

“ Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there is to be a Sabbath of complete rest, a sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; it is a Sabbath to the LORD wherever you live.

各人要孝敬父母，也要謹守我的安息日；我是耶和華你們的神。

六日要工作，但第七日是你們的聖日，要歸耶和華為休息的安息日。凡是在這日工作的，必須把他處死。在安息日，不可在你們任何的住處生火。”

六日之內，你要作你的工；但第七日你要安息，好使你的牛和驢可以歇息，並且使你婢女的兒子和寄居的也可以有時間喘息一下。

“你六日要工作，但第七天你要休息，在耕種和收割的時候，也要休息。

有一個主日，我在靈裡，聽見在我後邊有一個大聲音，好像號筒的響聲，

“要記念安息日，守為聖日。六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是耶和華你的神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女，你的僕婢和牲畜，以及住在你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工。因為耶和華在六日之內造天、地、海和其中的萬物，第七日就歇息了；所以耶和華賜福安息日，定為聖日。

會堂的主管，因為耶穌在安息日治病，就氣忿忿地對群眾說：“有六天是應當作工的，你們可以在這六天裡來求醫，但在安息日卻不可以。”

謹守安息日，不褻瀆這日，保守自己的手不作任何惡事，這樣行的人和堅持這樣作的人，是有福的！”

至於那些與耶和華聯合的外族人，為要事奉他，愛耶和華的名，作他的僕人的，就是謹守安息日，不褻瀆這日，又持守我的約的，

摩西對他們說：“耶和華這樣說：‘明天是安息日，是向耶和華守的聖安息日。你們要烤的，就烤吧；要煮的，就煮吧；所有餘剩的要自己保存著，直留到早晨。’”

六日要勞碌，作你一切工作。但第七日是屬於耶和華你神的安息日；這一日，你和你的兒女、僕婢、牛驢和一切牲畜，以及你城裡的寄居者，不可作任何的工，好使你的僕婢可以和你一樣享受安息。

“因安息日的緣故，你若轉離你的腳步；在我的聖日不作你喜歡作的；你若稱安息日為可喜樂的，稱耶和華的聖日為可尊重的；你若尊重這日，不作自己的事，不尋求自己所喜悅的，或不說無謂的話，

“你要吩咐以色列人說：你們務要守我的安息日，因為這是你我之間世世代代的記號，使你們知道我耶和華是把你們分別為聖的。所以你們應該守安息日，因為這是你們的聖日；凡是違反這日的，必要把他處死；凡是在這日工作的，那人必要從他的族人中被剪除。六日可以工作，但第七日是歇工的安息日，是歸耶和華為聖的，凡是在這安息日工作的，必須把那人處死。所以，以色列人要守安息日，他們世世代代要遵行安息日的規例，作為永遠的約。這是我和以色列人中間永遠的記號，因為六日之內耶和華創造了天地，但第七日就歇了工休息了。”

你們看，耶和華把安息日賜給了你們，所以第六日他賜給你們兩天的食物；第七天你們各人要住在家裡，誰都不可離開自己的地方。”

因為自古以來，在各城裡都有人宣講摩西的書，每逢安息日，在各會堂裡都有人誦讀。”

就回去預備香料和香膏。安息日，她們遵著誡命安息。
