“‘ When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’”

“‘ Suppose you are gathering your crops. Then do not harvest all the way to the edges of your field. And do not pick up the grain you missed. Leave some for the poor people and the outsiders who live among you. I am the Lord your God.’ ”

“ And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.”

「你在田間收割莊稼，若忘了一捆在田間，就不要再回去拿，要留給寄居的、孤兒和寡婦；好讓耶和華－你的上帝在你手裏所做的一切，賜福給你。你打了橄欖樹，枝上剩下的不可再打，要留給寄居的、孤兒和寡婦。你摘葡萄園的葡萄，掉落的不可拾取，要留給寄居的、孤兒和寡婦。

你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、在你中間寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要在那裏，耶和華－你上帝選擇作為他名居所的地方，在耶和華－你上帝面前歡樂。你要記得你在埃及作過奴僕，也要謹守遵行這些律例。」「你收藏了禾場和壓酒池的出產以後，就要守住棚節七日。在節期中，你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要歡樂。

她又起來拾取麥穗，波阿斯吩咐僕人說：「她即使在禾捆中拾取麥穗，也不可羞辱她。你們還要從捆裏抽一些出來，留給她拾取，不可責備她。」這樣，路得在田間拾取麥穗，直到晚上。她把所拾取的麥穗打了約有一伊法的大麥。路得把所拾取的帶進城去給婆婆看，又把她吃飽所剩的拿出來，給了婆婆。婆婆問她說：「你今日在哪裏拾取麥穗？在哪裏做工呢？願那照顧你的得福。」路得告訴婆婆，她在誰那裏做工，說：「我今日在一個名叫波阿斯的人那裏做工。」拿娥米對媳婦說：「願那人蒙耶和華賜福，因為他不斷地恩待活人死人。」拿娥米又對她說：「那人是我們本族的人，是一個可以贖我們產業的至親。」摩押女子路得說：「他還對我說：『你要緊跟着我的僕人拾取麥穗，直到他們把我所有的莊稼收割完畢。』」拿娥米對媳婦路得說：「女兒啊，你要跟着他的女僕出去，免得你在別人的田間受人騷擾。」於是路得緊跟着波阿斯的女僕拾取麥穗，直到大麥和小麥收割完畢。路得仍與婆婆同住。

路得就去了。她來到田間，在收割的人身後拾取麥穗。她恰巧來到以利米勒本族的人波阿斯那塊田裏。看哪，波阿斯正從伯利恆來，對收割的人說：「願耶和華與你們同在！」他們對他說：「願耶和華賜福給你！」波阿斯對監督收割的僕人說：「那是誰家的女子？」監督收割的僕人回答說：「她是摩押女子，跟隨拿娥米從摩押地回來的。她說：『請你容許我拾取麥穗，在收割的人身後撿禾捆中掉落的麥穗。』她就來了，從早晨直到如今，除了在屋子裏坐一會兒，她都留在這裏。」

因此，我想必須鼓勵那幾位弟兄先到你們那裏去，把從前所應許的捐款預備妥當，好顯出你們所捐的是出於樂意，不是出於勉強。還有一點：「少種的少收；多種的多收。」各人要隨心所願，不要為難，不要勉強，因為上帝愛樂捐的人。上帝能將各樣的恩惠多多加給你們，使你們凡事常常充足，能多做各樣善事。如經上所記：「他施捨，賙濟貧窮；他的義行存到永遠。」那賜種子給撒種的，賜糧食給人吃的，必多多加給你們種地的種子，又增添你們仁義的果子。你們必凡事富足，能多多施捨，使人藉着我們而生感謝上帝的心。因為辦這供給的事，不但補聖徒的缺乏，而且使許多人對上帝充滿更多的感謝。

有施捨的，錢財增添；吝惜過度，反致窮乏。慷慨待人，必然豐裕；滋潤人的，連自己也得滋潤。

豈不是要你把食物分給飢餓的人，將流浪的窮人接到家中，見赤身的給他衣服遮體，而不隱藏自己避開你的骨肉嗎？這樣，必有光如晨光破曉照耀你，你也要快快得到醫治；你的公義在你前面行，耶和華的榮光必作你的後盾。

「我若不讓貧寒人遂其所願，或是叫寡婦眼中失望，或獨自吃自己的食物，孤兒沒有吃其中些許；從我年輕時，孤兒就與我一同長大，我好像他的父親，我從出母腹就扶助寡婦；我若見人因無衣死亡，或見貧窮人毫無遮蓋；我若不使他真心為我祝福，不使他因我羊的毛得暖；我若舉手攻擊孤兒，因為在城門口見有幫助我的；

眷顧貧寒人的有福了！在患難的日子，耶和華必搭救他。耶和華必保全他，使他存活，他要在地上享福。求你不要把他交給仇敵，遂其所願。他病重在榻，耶和華必扶持他；他在病中，你必使他離開病床。

向飢餓的人施憐憫，使困苦的人得滿足；你在黑暗中就必得着光明，你的幽暗必變如正午。

他施捨，賙濟貧窮，他的義行存到永遠，他的角必被高舉，大有榮耀。

只要把杯盤裏面的施捨給人，對你們來說一切就都潔淨了。
