“ Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you have entered the land I am giving you, the land itself must observe a Sabbath rest before the Lord every seventh year.For six years you may plant your fields and prune your vineyards and harvest your crops,

Remember that you were once slaves in Egypt, so be careful to obey all these decrees.

Abel also brought a gift— the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift,but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.

You instructed them concerning your holy Sabbath. And you commanded them, through Moses your servant, to obey all your commands, decrees, and instructions.

Present a cake from the first of the flour you grind, and set it aside as a sacred offering, as you do with the first grain from the threshing floor.Throughout the generations to come, you are to present a sacred offering to the Lord each year from the first of your ground flour.
