Never forget to add salt to your grain offerings.“ If you present a grain offering to the Lord from the first portion of your harvest, bring fresh grain that is coarsely ground and roasted on a fire.Put olive oil on this grain offering, and sprinkle it with frankincense.The priest will take a representative portion of the grain moistened with oil, together with all the frankincense, and burn it as a special gift presented to the Lord.

“ Second, celebrate the Festival of Harvest, when you bring me the first crops of your harvest.“ Finally, celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season, when you have harvested all the crops from your fields.

“ Give the following instructions to the people of Israel.“ When you arrive in the land where I am taking you,and you eat the crops that grow there, you must set some aside as a sacred offering to the Lord.Present a cake from the first of the flour you grind, and set it aside as a sacred offering, as you do with the first grain from the threshing floor.Throughout the generations to come, you are to present a sacred offering to the Lord each year from the first of your ground flour.

“ Give the following instructions to the people of Israel.“ When you finally settle in the land I am giving you,

From wherever you live, bring two loaves of bread to be lifted up before the Lord as a special offering. Make these loaves from four quarts of choice flour, and bake them with yeast. They will be an offering to the Lord from the first of your crops.

And since Abraham and the other patriarchs were holy, their descendants will also be holy— just as the entire batch of dough is holy because the portion given as an offering is holy. For if the roots of the tree are holy, the branches will be, too.
