大約過了三個月，有人告訴猶大說：“你的媳婦他瑪作了妓女，並且因此懷了孕。”猶大說：“把她拉出來，燒死她。”

“不可辱沒你的女兒，使她作娼妓，免得這地淫亂，充滿醜惡的事。

好好管理自己的家，使兒女凡事敬重順服。（人若不知道怎樣管理自己的家，怎能照料神的教會呢？）

如果有人無可指摘，只作一個妻子的丈夫，兒女都信主，也沒有人控告他們放蕩或不受約束，才可以作長老。

你的兩個兒子何弗尼和非尼哈所要遭遇的事，是給你的一個證據：他們二人必同日而死。

你們要從我的聖所開始，把老年人、少年人、少女、孩童和婦女都殺盡滅絕，只是那些額上有記號的人，你們都不可傷害。”於是他們從殿前那些長老開始殺戮。

我曾告訴他：‘我必按著他所知道的罪孽永遠處罰他的家。這罪就是他的兒子自招咒詛，他也不責備他們。’所以我向以利家起了誓：‘以利家的罪孽永遠不能用祭物或供物來買贖。’”

我要斥責你們的子孫，也要把糞塗抹在你們的臉上，就是節期祭牲的糞；人要把你們抬到糞堆去。”

那時，耶穌開始責備那些他曾在那裡行過許多神蹟的城，因為它們不肯悔改：“哥拉遜啊，你有禍了！伯賽大啊，你有禍了！在你們那裡行過的神蹟，如果行在推羅和西頓，它們早已披麻蒙灰悔改了。但我告訴你們，在審判的日子，推羅和西頓所受的，比你們還輕呢。迦百農啊！你會被高舉到天上嗎？你必降到陰間。在你那裡行過的神蹟，如果行在所多瑪，那城還會存留到今天。但我告訴你們，在審判的日子，所多瑪那地方所受的，比你還輕呢。”

在錫安的罪人都恐懼；戰兢抓住了不敬虔的人：“我們中間誰能與吞滅一切的火同住呢？我們中間誰能與不斷燃燒的火同住呢？”

這樣，那兩個青年人在耶和華面前所犯的罪很大，因為他們藐視獻給耶和華的祭物。

如果有人娶妻，又娶岳母，就是行了醜惡的事，要把他們三人用火燒死，好使你們中間不再有醜惡的事。

約書亞說：“你為甚麼給我們招惹災禍呢？今天耶和華必使你遭受災禍。”於是全體以色列人用石頭把他打死。他們用石頭打死他們以後，就把一切用火燒了。

如果那藏有當毀滅的物的人被抽籤抽中了，他和他所有的一切都要用火焚燒；因為他違背了耶和華的約，又因為他在以色列中作了愚昧的事。’”
