But if the people of the country look the other way when that man gives any of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,

那人把兒女獻給摩洛，本地人若佯為不見，不把他治死，

那人把兒女獻給摩洛，本地的百姓若假裝沒看見，不把他處死，

那人把兒女獻給摩洛，本地的百姓若假裝沒看見，不把他處死，

如果那地方的人對此置之不理，沒有處死那人，

人把他的後裔獻給摩洛，這地的人若掩目不看，不把他處死，

若斯土之民、見其獻子女於摩洛、佯為不見、不致之死、

若鄰里目擊其事、佯為不見、不置之死、

彼以子女獻摩洛、若本處之民、偽為不見而不殺之、

If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death,

Suppose the members of the community act like they don’t know that the man has sacrificed his child to Molek. And suppose they don’t put him to death.

And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,

And if the people of the community ignore those who offer their children to Molech and refuse to execute them,

If the people of the land, however, should ever disregard that man when he gives any of his children to Molech, so as not to put him to death,

And if the people of the land should in any way hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him,

And if the people at the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and put him not to death;

But if the people of the country look the other way when that man gives any of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,

And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:

If, however, the people of the land shut their eyes to that man when he gives some of his children to Molech so that they do not put him to death,

If the people of the land all hide their eyes from that person when he gives of his offspring to Molech, and don’t put him to death,

do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity, and do not spare him or shield him.

“ If a man or woman among you in one of your towns that the LORD your God will give you is discovered doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God and violating his covenantand has gone to serve other gods by bowing in worship to the sun, moon, or all the stars in the sky— which I have forbidden—and if you are told or hear about it, then investigate it thoroughly. If the report turns out to be true that this detestable act has been done in Israel,you are to bring out to your city gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing and stone them to death.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,

But I have a few things against you. You have some there who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to place a stumbling block in front of the Israelites: to eat meat sacrificed to idols and to commit sexual immorality.

This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from among you what is set apart.

The prophet said to him,“ This is what the LORD says:‘ Because you released from your hand the man I had set apart for destruction, it will be your life in place of his life and your people in place of his people.’”

I told him that I am going to judge his family forever because of the iniquity he knows about: his sons are cursing God, and he has not stopped them.Therefore, I have sworn to Eli’s family: The iniquity of Eli’s family will never be wiped out by either sacrifice or offering.”
