“‘ If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.

“‘ Suppose a man has sex with his aunt. Then he has brought shame on his uncle. Both of them will be held accountable for what they have done. They will die without having any children.

If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.

“ If a man has sex with his uncle’s wife, he has violated his uncle. Both the man and woman will be punished for their sin, and they will die childless.

You are not to violate the intimacy that belongs to your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual intercourse; she is your aunt.

Let the line of his descendants be cut off; let their name be blotted out in the next generation.

Look, the days are coming when they will say,‘ Blessed are the women without children, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed!’

“ The Lord has done this for me. He has looked with favor in these days to take away my disgrace among the people.”

But they had no children because Elizabeth could not conceive, and both of them were well along in years.

He has no children or descendants among his people, no survivor where he used to live.

This is what the LORD says: Record this man as childless, a man who will not be successful in his lifetime. None of his descendants will succeed in sitting on the throne of David or ruling again in Judah.
