耶和华以色列的神曾立盐约，将以色列国永远赐给大卫和他的子孙，你们不知道吗？

你们的言语要常常带着和气，好像用盐调和，就可知道该怎样回答各人。

“你们是世上的盐。盐若失了味，怎能叫它再咸呢？以后无用，不过丢在外面，被人践踏了。

因为必用火当盐腌各人。盐本是好的，若失了味，可用什么叫它再咸呢？你们里头应当有盐，彼此和睦。”

就是银子直到一百他连得，麦子一百柯珥，酒一百罢特，油一百罢特，盐不计其数，也要给他。
