But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.

“‘ If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and do them,then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Cast your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days.Give a portion to seven, yes, even to eight; for you don’t know what evil will be on the earth.

“ Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies waste?Now therefore this is what Yahweh of Armies says: Consider your ways.You have sown much, and bring in little. You eat, but you don’t have enough. You drink, but you aren’t filled with drink. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm, and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes in it.”

‘ Consider, please, from this day and backward, from the twenty- fourth day of the ninth month, since the day that the foundation of Yahweh’s temple was laid, consider it.Is the seed yet in the barn? Yes, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree haven’t produced. From today I will bless you.’”

Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me! But you say,‘ How have we robbed you?’ In tithes and offerings.You are cursed with the curse; for you rob me, even this whole nation.Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for.

Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase:so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
