到了第五年，你們才吃樹上所結的果子，你們這樣作，你們的生產就必增加；我是耶和華你們的神。

But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the Lord your God.

“你們期望豐收，反倒歉收；你們收到家裡的，我就吹去。”為甚麼呢？萬軍之耶和華說：“因為我的殿宇荒廢，你們各人卻為自己的房屋奔馳。所以，因你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。我叫乾旱臨到大地、群山、五穀、新酒、新油、地上的出產、人畜和人手勞碌得來的一切。”

你們遵行我的律例，謹守我的誡命，遵照奉行，我就按時給你們降下雨露，使地生出土產，田野的樹木也結果實。

要把你的糧食撒在水面上，因為日久你必得回。你要分為七份，或分為八份，因為你不知道將來會有甚麼災禍在地上發生。

“這殿宇仍然荒廢，豈是你們住在有天花板的房屋的時候嗎？”現在萬軍之耶和華這樣說：“你們要反省自己的行為。你們撒的種多，收割的卻少；你們吃，卻吃不飽；你們喝，卻喝不足；你們穿衣服，卻穿不暖；得工錢的，卻把工錢放在破袋裡。”

你們要反省，從今日起回想過往，就是自九月二十四日起，從耶和華殿的奠基日開始，你們要反省：倉裡還有種子嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹和橄欖樹，豈是還沒有結果子嗎？從今日起，我必賜福。’”

人怎可搶奪神之物呢？你們卻搶奪屬我之物，竟還問：‘我們搶奪了你的甚麼呢？’就是搶奪了當納的十分之一和當獻的祭物。你們要受嚴厲的咒詛，因你們全國的人都搶奪了屬我之物。”萬軍之耶和華說：“你們要把當納的十分之一，全部送入倉庫，使我家中有糧；藉此試驗我，看我是不是為你們敞開天窗，把福氣倒給你們，直到充足有餘呢。”

你要把你的財物，和一切初熟的農作物，敬奉耶和華。這樣，你的倉庫必充滿有餘，你的榨酒池也必盈溢新酒。
