You must not oppress your neighbor or commit robbery against him. You must not withhold the wages of the hired laborer overnight until morning.

Look, the pay you have held back from the workers who mowed your fields cries out against you, and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.

“ I will come to you in judgment. I will be quick to testify against those who practice divination, those who commit adultery, those who break promises, and those who exploit workers, widows, and orphans, who refuse to help the immigrant and in this way show they do not fear me,” says the LORD who rules over all.

You must not oppress a lowly and poor servant, whether one from among your fellow Israelites or from the resident foreigners who are living in your land and villages.You must pay his wage that very day before the sun sets, for he is poor and his life depends on it. Otherwise he will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.

Diverse weights and diverse measures– the LORD abhors both of them.

if I have eaten its produce without paying, or caused the death of its owners,

The LORD says,“ Do what is just and right. Deliver those who have been robbed from those who oppress them. Do not exploit or mistreat foreigners who live in your land, children who have no fathers, or widows. Do not kill innocent people in this land.

You know the commandments:‘ Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’”

and my anger will burn and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will be widows and your children will be fatherless.“ If you lend money to any of my people who are needy among you, do not be like a moneylender to him; do not charge him interest.If you do take the garment of your neighbor in pledge, you must return it to him by the time the sun goes down,for it is his only covering– it is his garment for his body. What else can he sleep in? And when he cries out to me, I will hear, for I am gracious.

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have wronged the poor and needy; they have oppressed the foreigner who lives among them and denied them justice.

If the thief is not caught, then the owner of the house will be brought before the judges to see whether he has laid his hand on his neighbor’s goods.In all cases of illegal possessions, whether for an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any kind of lost item, about which someone says‘ This belongs to me,’ the matter of the two of them will come before the judges, and the one whom the judges declare guilty must repay double to his neighbor.

“‘ Sure to be judged is the king who builds his palace using injustice and treats people unfairly while adding its upper rooms. He makes his countrymen work for him for nothing. He does not pay them for their labor.

Do not exploit a poor person because he is poor and do not crush the needy in court,

or has found something lost and denies it and swears falsely concerning any one of the things that someone might do to sin–

In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.

If its owner was with it, he will not have to pay; if it was hired, what was paid for the hire covers it.

If it is torn in pieces, then he will bring it for evidence, and he will not have to pay for what was torn.

“ You must not wrong a foreigner nor oppress him, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.

He told them,“ Collect no more than you are required to.”
