其间所剩下的不多，好像人打橄榄树，在尽上的枝梢上只剩两三个果子；在多果树的旁枝上只剩四五个果子。这是耶和华以色列的神说的。

基甸对他们说：“我所行的岂能比你们所行的呢？以法莲拾取剩下的葡萄不强过亚比以谢所摘的葡萄吗？

哀哉！我好像夏天的果子已被收尽，又像摘了葡萄所剩下的，没有一挂可吃的；我心羡慕初熟的无花果。

“盗贼若来在你那里，或强盗夜间而来（你何竟被剪除），岂不偷窃直到够了呢？摘葡萄的若来到你那里，岂不剩下些葡萄呢？

在地上的万民中，必像打过的橄榄树，又像已摘的葡萄所剩无几。
