He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites— all their sins— and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.

He must place both of his hands on its head. While he does that, he must tell me about all the sins the Israelites have committed. He must tell me about all their evil acts and the times they did not obey me. In that way he puts their sins on the goat’s head. Then he will send the goat away into the desert. The goat will be led away by a man appointed to do it.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

He will lay both of his hands on the goat’s head and confess over it all the wickedness, rebellion, and sins of the people of Israel. In this way, he will transfer the people’s sins to the head of the goat. Then a man specially chosen for the task will drive the goat into the wilderness.

遮掩自己罪过的，必不亨通；承认离弃罪过的，必蒙怜恤。

愿你睁眼看，侧耳听，你仆人昼夜在你面前为你众仆人以色列民的祈祷，承认我们以色列人向你所犯的罪；我与我父家都有罪了。我们向你所行的甚是邪恶，没有遵守你藉着仆人摩西所吩咐的诫命、律例、典章。

以斯拉祷告，认罪，哭泣，俯伏在神殿前的时候，有以色列中的男女孩童聚集到以斯拉那里，成了大会，众民无不痛哭。

因为，人心里相信就可以称义，口里承认就可以得救。

“你要把公牛牵到会幕前，亚伦和他儿子要按手在公牛的头上。

我便禁食，披麻蒙灰，定意向主神祈祷恳求。我向耶和华我的神祈祷、认罪，说：“主啊，大而可畏的神，向爱主、守主诫命的人守约施慈爱。我们犯罪作孽，行恶叛逆，偏离你的诫命典章，没有听从你仆人众先知奉你名向我们君王、首领、列祖，和国中一切百姓所说的话。主啊，你是公义的，我们是脸上蒙羞的；因我们犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民，并以色列众人，或在近处，或在远处，被你赶到各国的人，都得罪了你，正如今日一样。主啊，我们和我们的君王、首领、列祖因得罪了你，就都脸上蒙羞。主我们的神是怜悯饶恕人的，我们却违背了他，也没有听从耶和华我们神的话，没有遵行他藉仆人众先知向我们所陈明的律法。以色列众人都犯了你的律法，偏行，不听从你的话；因此，在你仆人摩西律法上所写的咒诅和誓言都倾在我们身上，因我们得罪了神。他使大灾祸临到我们，成就了警戒我们和审判我们官长的话；原来在普天之下未曾行过像在耶路撒冷所行的。这一切灾祸临到我们身上是照摩西律法上所写的，我们却没有求耶和华我们神的恩典，使我们回头离开罪孽，明白你的真理。所以耶和华留意使这灾祸临到我们身上，因为耶和华我们的神在他所行的事上都是公义；我们并没有听从他的话。主我们的神啊，你曾用大能的手领你的子民出埃及地，使自己得了名，正如今日一样。我们犯了罪，作了恶。主啊，求你按你的大仁大义，使你的怒气和忿怒转离你的城耶路撒冷，就是你的圣山。耶路撒冷和你的子民，因我们的罪恶和我们列祖的罪孽被四围的人羞辱。我们的神啊，现在求你垂听仆人的祈祷恳求，为自己使脸光照你荒凉的圣所。我的神啊，求你侧耳而听，睁眼而看，眷顾我们荒凉之地和称为你名下的城。我们在你面前恳求，原不是因自己的义，乃因你的大怜悯。求主垂听，求主赦免，求主应允而行，为你自己不要迟延。我的神啊，因这城和这民都是称为你名下的。”我说话，祷告，承认我的罪和本国之民以色列的罪，为我神的圣山，在耶和华我神面前恳求。

他有了罪的时候，就要承认所犯的罪，

“他们要承认自己的罪和他们祖宗的罪，就是干犯我的那罪，并且承认自己行事与我反对，

他要按手在燔祭牲的头上，燔祭便蒙悦纳，为他赎罪。

那日的四分之一站在自己的地方念耶和华他们神的律法书，又四分之一认罪，敬拜耶和华他们的神。耶书亚、巴尼、甲篾、示巴尼、布尼、示利比、巴尼、基拿尼站在利未人的台上，大声哀求耶和华他们的神。利未人耶书亚、甲篾、巴尼、哈沙尼、示利比、荷第雅、示巴尼、毗他希雅说：“你们要站起来称颂耶和华你们的神，永世无尽。耶和华啊，你荣耀之名是应当称颂的！超乎一切称颂和赞美。”
