But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.

But the goat chosen by the other lot must remain alive. First, it must be brought in to me to pay for the people’s sins. Then, it must be sent into the desert as a goat that carries the people’s sins away.

神设立耶稣作挽回祭，是凭着耶稣的血，藉着人的信，要显明神的义；因为他用忍耐的心宽容人先时所犯的罪，

像这样圣洁、无邪恶、无玷污、远离罪人、高过诸天的大祭司，原是与我们合宜的。他不像那些大祭司，每日必须先为自己的罪，后为百姓的罪献祭；因为他只一次将自己献上，就把这事成全了。

用以在那长大麻风求洁净的人身上洒七次，就定他为洁净，又把活鸟放在田野里。

耶稣被交给人，是为我们的过犯；复活，是为叫我们称义。

神使那无罪的，替我们成为罪，好叫我们在他里面成为神的义。

他诚然担当我们的忧患，背负我们的痛苦；我们却以为他受责罚，被神击打苦待了。哪知他为我们的过犯受害，为我们的罪孽压伤。因他受的刑罚，我们得平安；因他受的鞭伤，我们得医治。我们都如羊走迷；各人偏行己路；耶和华使我们众人的罪孽都归在他身上。他被欺压，在受苦的时候却不开口；他像羊羔被牵到宰杀之地，又像羊在剪毛的人手下无声，他也是这样不开口。因受欺压和审判，他被夺去，至于他同世的人，谁想他受鞭打、从活人之地被剪除，是因我百姓的罪过呢？他虽然未行强暴，口中也没有诡诈，人还使他与恶人同埋；谁知死的时候与财主同葬。耶和华却定意将他压伤，使他受痛苦。耶和华以他为赎罪祭。他必看见后裔，并且延长年日。耶和华所喜悦的事必在他手中亨通。他必看见自己劳苦的功效，便心满意足。有许多人因认识我的义仆得称为义；并且他要担当他们的罪孽。

两手按在羊头上，承认以色列人诸般的罪孽过犯，就是他们一切的罪愆，把这罪都归在羊的头上，藉着所派之人的手，送到旷野去。要把这羊放在旷野，这羊要担当他们一切的罪孽，带到无人之地。

主为我们舍命，我们从此就知道何为爱；我们也当为弟兄舍命。

照着天上样式做的物件必须用这些祭物去洁净；但那天上的本物自然当用更美的祭物去洁净。因为基督并不是进了人手所造的圣所（这不过是真圣所的影像），乃是进了天堂，如今为我们显在神面前；
