But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.

上帝使基督耶穌成為贖罪祭，以便人藉著相信耶穌的寶血可以得到赦免。這是為了顯明上帝的義，因為祂用忍耐的心寬容人過去的罪，

我們所需要的，正是這樣一位聖潔無瑕、良善純全、遠離罪惡、超越諸天的大祭司。祂無需像其他大祭司每天先為自己的罪獻祭，然後為百姓的罪獻祭，因為祂只一次獻上自己的生命，便永遠完成了贖罪的工作。

祭司要用鳥血在他身上灑七次，宣佈他是潔淨的，然後放走那隻活鳥，讓牠飛向田野。

耶穌受害而死是為了我們的過犯，祂復活是為了使我們成為義人。

上帝使無罪的基督擔當我們的罪，使我們可以藉著基督成為被上帝接納的義人。

其實祂擔當了我們的憂患，背負了我們的痛苦。我們卻以為是上帝責罰、擊打、苦待祂。誰知祂是因我們的過犯而被刺透，因我們的罪惡而被壓傷。我們因祂所受的刑罰而得到平安，因祂所受的鞭傷而得到醫治。我們都像迷路的羊，各人偏行己路，但上帝卻讓祂承擔我們眾人的罪惡。祂遭欺壓、受痛苦，卻默然不語，像被人牽去宰殺的羔羊，又如在剪毛人手下一聲不吭的綿羊。祂被逮捕，受審判，被處死。祂那個世代的人誰會想到祂受鞭打、從世上被除去是因為我百姓的過犯呢？雖然祂沒有做過殘暴之事，口中也沒有詭詐，人卻將祂與惡人同葬，祂死後葬在富人的墓穴。然而，祂被壓傷、受痛苦是耶和華的旨意；祂的性命作了贖罪祭，祂必看見自己的後裔，祂必長久活著。耶和華的旨意必在祂手中實現。祂必看見自己勞苦的成果，並心滿意足。耶和華說：「我公義的僕人必憑祂的知識使許多人被算為義人，祂要擔當他們的罪惡。

把雙手放在羊頭上，承認以色列人的過犯、叛逆和罪惡，將這一切罪歸到公山羊的頭上，然後派人把牠送到曠野。這隻公山羊擔當他們的一切罪，將這一切罪帶到荒無人煙的地方。

主耶穌為我們捨命，我們由此便知道什麼是愛，我們也應當為弟兄姊妹捨命。

既然仿照天上的樣式所造的器具需要用祭牲的血來潔淨，天上的原物當然要用更美的祭物來潔淨。因為基督並非進入了人手所造的聖所，那只是真聖所的縮影，祂是進入了天堂，替我們來到上帝面前。
