以前你在许多见证人面前听过我的教导，你要把这些教导传给忠信可靠、能够教导他人的人。

他又在犹大各坚城委任审判官，对他们说：“你们办事必须谨慎，因为你们不是为人而是为耶和华断案，你们断案的时候，耶和华必与你们同在。现在你们应当敬畏耶和华，谨慎办事，因为我们的上帝耶和华毫无不义，不偏待人，不受贿赂。”

彼得继续说：“诗篇上写道，‘愿他的家园一片荒凉，无人居住’，又说，‘愿别人取代他的职位。’所以，我们必须另选一个人代替犹大，与我们一同为主耶稣的复活做见证。他必须是从主耶稣接受约翰的洗礼起一直到主升天，始终与我们在一起的人。”

如果你们不愿意事奉耶和华，今天就选择你们的神明吧，或大河那边你们祖先事奉的神明，或你们这里亚摩利人的神明。至于我和我全家，我们必事奉耶和华。”

我要看顾国中忠于上帝的人，让他们与我同住。行事正直的人才能服侍我。

他在执政第三年委派官员便·亥伊勒、俄巴底、撒迦利雅、拿坦业和米该亚到犹大各城教导民众，与他们同去的还有利未人示玛雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亚撒黑、示米拉末、约拿单、亚多尼雅、多比雅和驼·巴多尼雅，还有祭司以利沙玛和约兰。他们带着耶和华的律法书，走遍犹大各城镇教导民众。

列入名册的寡妇必须年满六十岁，在婚姻上从一而终，并且在善事上有好名声，如教养儿女、接待外人、服侍圣徒、救助困苦、竭力做各种善事。

我拣选了他，是要他教导自己的子孙后代持守我的道、秉公行义。这样，我必实现对他的应许。”
