If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.

God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say,“ You must remove the evil person from among you.”

He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

I will raise my fist against you. I will melt you down and skim off your slag. I will remove all your impurities.Then I will give you good judges again and wise counselors like you used to have. Then Jerusalem will again be called the Home of Justice and the Faithful City.”

If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.

I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

Throw out the mocker, and fighting goes, too. Quarrels and insults will disappear.

“ I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars.

But this is in your favor: You hate the evil deeds of the Nicolaitans, just as I do.

Then you must throw this man out and hand him over to Satan so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved on the day the Lord returns.Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?
