見異象者哈拿尼的兒子耶戶出來和約沙法王見面，對他說：『你哪可幫助惡人、愛那恨惡永恆主的人呢？因此那出於永恆主的震怒就要臨到你了。然而你還有良好的表現，因為你從國中將亞舍拉神木肅清，你並且立定了心意尋求上帝。』

遮掩自己罪過的、必不能順利；承認罪過並離棄的、必蒙憐憫。

大衛對拿單說：『我犯罪得罪了永恆主了。』拿單對大衛說：『永恆主也已不追究你的罪了；你是不至於死的。

倒不如饒恕勸慰他好，恐怕這樣的人被過度的憂愁所吞滅。

『有誰對上帝說過：「我擔受了責罰，我不再有敗壞的行為了。我所看不明的、求你指教我；我若作了孽，我必不再作」。

不再順着人的私慾，乃順着上帝的旨意，來度肉身上剩餘的時光。在過去的時光，你們作出外國人所執意作的，行於邪蕩、私慾、沉醉、荒宴、狂飲、和違例可憎之偶像崇拜、已經夠了。

弟兄們，縱使有人一時衝動被某種過犯所勝，你們屬靈的人也要以柔和的心靈把這樣的人改正過來。你也要察看自己，免得你也被試誘。
