You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.

You must not eat the meat of those animals. You must not even touch their dead bodies. They are“ unclean” for you.

You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.

You may not eat the meat of these animals or even touch their carcasses. They are ceremonially unclean for you.

Or when there is a person who touches anything ceremonially unclean, whether the carcass of an unclean wild animal, or the carcass of an unclean domesticated animal, or the carcass of an unclean creeping thing, even if he did not realize it, but he himself has become unclean and is guilty;

They will not remain in the LORD’s land. Ephraim will return to Egypt; they will eat ritually unclean food in Assyria.

Leave! Leave! Get out of there! Don’t touch anything unclean! Get out of it! Stay pure, you who carry the LORD’s holy items!

These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.”

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean in itself; still, it is unclean to the one who considers it unclean.For if your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy by your food someone for whom Christ died.Therefore do not let what you consider good be spoken of as evil.For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Therefore do not be partakers with them,

Therefore“ come out from their midst, and be separate,” says the Lord,“ and touch no unclean thing, and I will welcome you,

that you abstain from meat that has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what has been strangled and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from doing these things, you will do well. Farewell.

“ Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.Even though they have the appearance of wisdom with their self- imposed worship and false humility achieved by an unsparing treatment of the body– a wisdom with no true value– they in reality result in fleshly indulgence.

Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

He said to them,“ You know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile, yet God has shown me that I should call no person defiled or ritually unclean.

Now food will not bring us close to God. We are no worse if we do not eat and no better if we do.

He became hungry and wanted to eat, but while they were preparing the meal, a trance came over him.He saw heaven opened and an object something like a large sheet descending, being let down to earth by its four corners.In it were all kinds of four- footed animals and reptiles of the earth and wild birds.Then a voice said to him,“ Get up, Peter; slaughter and eat!”But Peter said,“ Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!”The voice spoke to him again, a second time,“ What God has made clean, you must not consider ritually unclean!”

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.”

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days–

He said to them,“ Are you so foolish? Don’t you understand that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him?

It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything that causes your brother to stumble.
