有人有信心可以喫百物，但也有信心軟弱的人只喫蔬菜。喫的別藐視不喫的了；不喫的也別論斷喫的了；上帝已經接納他。

那時你們就必重新看出義人與惡人之間、事奉上帝的與不事奉上帝的之間、有甚麼分別了。

所以我們別再彼此論斷了；寧可決斷不給弟兄放下碰腳石或絆跌物。我知道，並在主耶穌裏深信，凡物自身沒有俗污的；惟獨人若以某物為俗污，那物對那人就俗污了。你若因食物的緣故使你的弟兄憂愁，便不再是依照愛心而行了。基督曾經替他死的人，你可別用你的食物使他失喪了！所以不可讓你們所看為善的受着毁謗。因為上帝的國不在乎喫喝，乃在乎正義和平與喜樂都在聖靈之感動中。本着這種原則來服事基督的、才是上帝所喜歡，又是人所試驗為可嘉的。這樣看來，和平之事、跟彼此建立的事、我們便要追求了。你可別因食物的緣故來拆毁上帝所造的人了！凡物都是潔淨的；但若有人喫東西而帶着碰倒人的事，這在那人就是惡的了。不喫肉，不喝酒，不在任何事上叫你的弟兄碰倒、才是好的。你所有信心的意見、你自己在上帝面前存着吧。人在所認可的事上能不論斷自己，就有福了。但疑惑的人若喫了，就受定罪，因為不是出於信心：凡不出於信心的都是罪。
