For I, the Lord, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy.

I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.

I will claim you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you from your oppression in Egypt.

God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.

For the Scriptures say,“ You must be holy because I am holy.”

So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing.He gave his people the lands of pagan nations, and they harvested crops that others had planted.All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the Lord!

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.
