“‘ All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be regarded as unclean by you.

“‘ Treat as“ unclean” every flying insect that walks on all fours.

“ All winged insects that go on all fours are detestable to you.

“ You must not eat winged insects that walk along the ground; they are detestable to you.

‘ All the winged insects that walk on all fours are detestable to you.

‘ All flying insects that creep on all fours shall be an abomination to you.

All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination unto you.

“ All winged insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you.

All fowls that creep, going upon[ all] four,[ shall be] an abomination unto you.

“‘ Every winged swarming thing that walks on all fours is detestable to you.

Do not fear other gods,but fear the LORD your God, and he will rescue you from all your enemies.”However, these nations would not listen but continued observing their former practices.They feared the LORD but also served their idols. Still today, their children and grandchildren continue doing as their ancestors did.

All the four-footed animals that walk on their paws are unclean for you. Whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean until evening,

With your hand, LORD, save me from men, from men of the world whose portion is in this life: You fill their bellies with what you have in store; their sons are satisfied, and they leave their surplus to their children.

But these people blaspheme anything they do not understand. And what they do understand by instinct— like irrational animals— by these things they are destroyed.

These people create divisions and are worldly, not having the Spirit.

For I have often told you, and now say again with tears, that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory is in their shame; and they are focused on earthly things.

All other winged insects that have four feet are to be abhorrent to you.

All winged insects are unclean for you; they may not be eaten.
