Their throat is an open grave; they deceive with their tongues. Vipers’ venom is under their lips.Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.Their feet are swift to shed blood;ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,and the path of peace they have not known.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,senseless, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.Although they know God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.

Put the ram’s horn to your mouth! One like an eagle comes against the house of the LORD, because they transgress my covenant and rebel against my law.

but these are the ones you may not eat: eagles, bearded vultures, black vultures,the kites, any kind of falcon,every kind of raven,ostriches, short-eared owls, gulls, any kind of hawk,little owls, long-eared owls, barn owls,eagle owls, ospreys, cormorants,storks, any kind of heron, hoopoes, and bats.All winged insects are unclean for you; they may not be eaten.But you may eat every clean flying creature.

Their horses are swifter than leopards and more fierce than wolves of the night. Their horsemen charge ahead; their horsemen come from distant lands. They fly like eagles, swooping to devour.

Does the eagle soar at your command and make its nest on high?It lives on a cliff where it spends the night; its stronghold is on a rocky crag.From there it searches for prey; its eyes penetrate the distance.Its brood gulps down blood, and where the slain are, it is there.

No bird of prey knows that path; no falcon’s eye has seen it.

Look, he advances like clouds; his chariots are like a storm. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are ruined!

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

Wherever the carcass is, there the vultures will gather.

For this is what the LORD says: Look! He will swoop down like an eagle and spread his wings against Moab.

Who provides the raven’s food when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?

Those who chased us were swifter than eagles in the sky; they relentlessly pursued us over the mountains and ambushed us in the wilderness.
