Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair become unkempt and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the Israelites, may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed by fire.

Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar. They were Aaron’s sons. Moses said,“ Don’t let your hair hang loose. Don’t tear your clothes. If you do, you will die. And the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But all the Israelites are allowed to show they are sad. They are your relatives. They may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed with fire.

And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons,“ Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning that the Lord has kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not show grief by leaving your hair uncombed or by tearing your clothes. If you do, you will die, and the Lord’s anger will strike the whole community of Israel. However, the rest of the Israelites, your relatives, may mourn because of the Lord’s fiery destruction of Nadab and Abihu.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your clothes, or else you will die, and the LORD will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may weep over the fire that the LORD caused.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, so that you do not die and He does not become wrathful against all the congregation. But your kinsmen, the entire house of Israel, shall weep for the burning which the Lord has brought about.

And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the people. But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your garments, or else you will die, and the Lord will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may mourn over that tragedy when the Lord sent the fire.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his other two sons,“ Do not dishevel the hair of your heads and do not tear your garments, so that you do not die and so that wrath does not come on the whole congregation. Your brothers, all the house of Israel, are to mourn the burning which the LORD has caused,

Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons,“ Don’t let the hair of your heads go loose, and don’t tear your clothes, so that you don’t die, and so that he will not be angry with all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Yahweh has kindled.

但是以色列人在該被毁滅歸神之物上犯了不忠實的罪；猶大支派中謝拉的曾孫、撒底的孫子、迦米的兒子亞干、取了該被毁滅歸神之物，永恆主就向以色列人發怒。

摩西、亞倫就臉伏於地說：『上帝啊，萬人之靈的上帝啊，一個人犯罪、你就要惱怒全會眾麼？』

今日你們竟轉離了永恆主呀？今日你們既背叛了永恆主，明日他就必震怒以色列全會眾了。

『身上有痲瘋屬災病的人、他的衣服要撕裂，頭髮要蓬散；他要摀着上脣喊叫說：「我不潔淨，不潔淨。」

從前謝拉的曾孫亞干豈不是在該被毁滅歸神之物上不忠實，以致有上帝的震怒臨到以色列全會眾麼？那人在他的罪愆中死亡，還不只是他一人而已呢。」』

永恆主又向以色列人發怒，就激動了大衛來害他們，說：『去統計統計以色列人和猶大人吧。』

你們要守盡聖所的職守、和祭壇的職守，免得上帝的震怒再臨到以色列人。

但是利未人要在法櫃帳幕的四圍紮營，免得上帝的震怒臨到以色列人的會眾：利未人是要守盡法櫃帳幕之職守的。』

『儘他離俗歸永恆主的日子、他總不可走近死人。「他的父親或母親、弟兄或姐妹、死了的時候、他不可因他們而使自己不潔淨，因為離俗歸他的上帝的憑據在他頭上；

『人子啊，你看吧，我要用暴卒病將你眼目所喜愛的取去；你卻不可號咷哭泣，也不可流淚。只可唉哼歎息，沉默無聲；不可為死人辦理喪事；你頭上要仍然包着華美裹頭巾，腳上要仍穿着鞋；你不要蒙着嘴脣，也不要喫居喪的飯。』

對他自己的父母利未是說：我沒有看見；他的弟兄、他不承認，他的兒女、他不認識；因為利未人謹守你說的話，你的約他們恪守着。

猶大啊，為你的嬌麗兒女剪髮、使其頭光禿哦；使你的光禿大如禿鷹哦；因為他們都必流亡而離開你。

祭司要叫那婦人站在永恆主面前，叫那婦人蓬頭散髮，把記憶的素祭、就是疑忌的素祭、放在她手掌中，祭司手裏要拿着那能招致咒詛的苦水。

窺探那地的人之中、嫩的兒子約書亞和耶孚尼的兒子迦勒、就撕裂衣服，

耶路撒冷啊，把頭髮剪下來，丟掉吧；在無草木的高處上舉哀吧；因為永恆主棄絕擯棄了他所惱怒的世代了。」

永恆主把瘟疫降在以色列中；從早晨到所定的時候，從但直到別是巴、民間死了七萬人。天使向耶路撒冷伸手要殺滅城裏的人，永恆主就後悔、不降這災，便對那殺滅人民的天使說：『夠了；現在放手吧。』那時永恆主的使者在耶布斯人亞勞拿的禾場附近。大衛看見了那擊殺人民的天使，就對永恆主說道：『是我犯了罪了；我作了孽了；這些羣羊作了甚麼呢？但願你的手攻擊我和我父的家好啦。』

第二天、以色列人全會眾都向摩西、亞倫發怨言、說：『是你們二人把永恆主的人民害死了的。』當會眾聚集攻擊摩西、亞倫的時候，他們望着會棚，啊，竟有雲彩遮蓋着呢；永恆主的榮光顯現了。摩西、亞倫就來到會棚前面。永恆主告訴摩西說：『你要從這會眾中起來，我好在眨眼之間消滅他們。』二人就臉伏於地。摩西對亞倫說：『拿那香爐，把祭壇上取的火盛在那裏頭，又放上香，趕快走到會眾那裏，為他們行除罪禮，因為有神的震怒從永恆主面前發出，疫病已經發作了。』亞倫照摩西所說的拿來，跑到大眾中，哎呀，疫病已經在民間發作了；他就加上香，為人民行除罪禮。

永恆主對摩西說：『你要對以色列人說：「你們是脖子硬的人民；我若眨眼間臨到你們中間，是會把你們滅盡的；如今你們要把身上的妝飾脫下來，讓我知道要怎樣處置你們。」』

永恆主對摩西說：『你要告訴亞倫子孫做祭司的說：人不可為了死人而在他族人中讓自己蒙不潔；除非為了骨肉的至親；母親、父親、兒女、弟兄、或是作處女的姐妹、未曾嫁人的至親，他才可以為了她而蒙不潔。但姐妹若嫁了人，他就不可為了她而蒙不潔。他們總不可使頭上光禿，不可把鬍鬚的兩邊剃掉，不可將刻紋刻在肉身上。他們要成為聖歸於他們的上帝，不可褻瀆他們的上帝的名，因為給永恆主的火祭、他們的上帝的食物、是他們獻的，所以他們要成聖別。他們不可娶妓女或被污辱的女人為妻，也不可娶被丈夫離婚的女人為妻；因為祭司是成聖別歸他的上帝的。你要把他分別為聖，因為是他在獻你的上帝的食物；你要以他為聖，因為這把你們分別為聖的、我永恆主是聖的。做祭司的人的女兒若污辱自己、去做妓女，那就是污辱了她的父親；她必須被火燒。『在弟兄中做大祭司、頭上倒過膏油、身受過聖職以穿聖衣的、不可蓬頭散髮，也不可撕裂衣服。他不可走近死人；為了父親或母親也不可讓自己蒙不潔。他不可出聖所，也不可褻瀆他的上帝的聖所，因為他的上帝膏油之聖冠在他頭上；我是永恆主。他、要娶處女為妻。寡婦、或是被離婚的、或是被污辱的、做妓女的、他都不可以娶；他只要娶他族人中的處女為妻。不可在他族人中讓他的後裔受污辱，因為我永恆主、是把他分別為聖的。』

以色列人犯了罪，不但越犯了我的約、我所吩咐他們守的約，反而取了該被毁滅歸神之物；又偷竊，又欺詐，私放在自己的物件裏。
