Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair become unkempt and do not tear your clothes, or you will die and the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But your relatives, all the Israelites, may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed by fire.

Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar. They were Aaron’s sons. Moses said,“ Don’t let your hair hang loose. Don’t tear your clothes. If you do, you will die. And the Lord will be angry with the whole community. But all the Israelites are allowed to show they are sad. They are your relatives. They may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed with fire.

And Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his sons,“ Do not let the hair of your heads hang loose, and do not tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the congregation; but let your brothers, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning that the Lord has kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not show grief by leaving your hair uncombed or by tearing your clothes. If you do, you will die, and the Lord’s anger will strike the whole community of Israel. However, the rest of the Israelites, your relatives, may mourn because of the Lord’s fiery destruction of Nadab and Abihu.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your clothes, or else you will die, and the LORD will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may weep over the fire that the LORD caused.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, so that you do not die and He does not become wrathful against all the congregation. But your kinsmen, the entire house of Israel, shall weep for the burning which the Lord has brought about.

And Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons,“ Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the people. But let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has kindled.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Let not the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes; that ye die not, and that he be not wroth with all the congregation: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which Jehovah hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar,“ Do not let your hair hang loose and do not tear your garments, or else you will die, and the Lord will become angry with the whole community. However, your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may mourn over that tragedy when the Lord sent the fire.

And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.

Then Moses said to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar his other two sons,“ Do not dishevel the hair of your heads and do not tear your garments, so that you do not die and so that wrath does not come on the whole congregation. Your brothers, all the house of Israel, are to mourn the burning which the LORD has caused,

「患痲瘋病的人必須撕裂衣服，披頭散髮，遮住臉的下半部，高喊『不潔淨！不潔淨！』

從前謝拉的曾孫亞干私自留下那些耶和華吩咐要毀滅的東西，以致耶和華的烈怒臨到以色列全體會眾，因他的罪而死的不只他一個人！」

耶和華又向以色列人發怒，祂促使大衛來對付他們，讓大衛統計以色列和猶大的人口。

你們要看守聖所和祭壇，以免我的憤怒再臨到以色列人。

但利未人要在放約櫃的聖幕四周紮營，防止以色列人觸怒耶和華。利未人負責看守聖幕。」

在獻給耶和華期間，不可挨近死屍，即使父母或是兄弟姊妹死了，也不可挨近，以免沾染不潔，因為他頭上有將自己奉獻給上帝的記號。

「人子啊，我要突然奪去你心愛的人，你不可悲傷，也不可流淚哭泣。你要默然哀歎，不可為死人辦喪事，仍要纏著頭巾，穿著鞋，不可蒙著臉，也不可吃喪家吃的飯。」

為了聽從你的話，遵守你的約，他們不畏冒犯父母，捨棄弟兄，拋下兒女。

猶大人啊，你們要剃光頭髮，為你們所愛的兒女悲傷；要剃得如禿鷹一樣光禿，因為他們要被擄到遠方。

然後讓那婦人站在耶和華面前，解開她的頭髮，把那素祭放在她手裡。祭司要拿著帶給罪人咒詛的苦水，

打探迦南的人中，嫩的兒子約書亞和耶孚尼的兒子迦勒撕裂衣服，

你們要剪掉頭髮，在光禿的山上哀哭，因為耶和華已棄絕這惹祂發怒的百姓。』」

於是，那天早晨，耶和華在以色列降下瘟疫，瘟疫持續了三天，從但到別示巴共有七萬人死亡。當天使準備伸手毀滅耶路撒冷的時候，耶和華心生憐憫，就對滅命天使說：「夠了，住手吧！」當時，耶和華的天使正站在耶布斯人亞勞拿的麥場上。大衛看見滅命天使，就對耶和華說：「是我犯了罪，做了惡事，這些百姓有什麼過錯呢？願你的手懲罰我和我的家族。」

第二天，以色列全體會眾都埋怨摩西和亞倫說：「你們害死了耶和華的子民。」會眾聚集起來反對摩西和亞倫，他們向會幕觀看，忽然有雲彩遮蓋了會幕，耶和華的榮光顯現了。摩西和亞倫來到會幕前，耶和華對摩西說：「你們離開這些會眾，我好在頃刻之間消滅他們。」他們二人就俯伏在地。摩西對亞倫說：「取香爐來，裡面放些壇上的火，添上香，趕快帶到會眾那裡為他們贖罪，因為耶和華發怒了，瘟疫已經開始。」亞倫就照著摩西的吩咐取來香爐，跑到會眾當中。那時瘟疫已經在人群中蔓延起來。他就在爐中放上香為民眾贖罪。

耶和華對摩西說：「你去向以色列百姓宣佈，『你們這些頑固不化的人，我就是跟你們在一起待一刻，都恐怕會滅絕你們。現在你們要摘下自己身上的飾物，我再決定怎樣處置你們。』」

耶和華對摩西說：「你把以下條例告訴祭司——亞倫的子孫。「祭司不可因接觸死去的族人而使自己不潔淨，但骨肉至親，如父母、兒女、兄弟、以及未出嫁仍是處女的姊妹例外。祭司不可因姻親的關係而玷污自己。祭司不可剃光頭、修剪鬍鬚或割傷身體。他們要做上帝的聖潔之民，不可褻瀆我的名。因為他們負責獻我的火祭，即我的食物，所以要保持聖潔。他們不可娶妓女或被休的女人為妻，因為祭司要為了我而保持聖潔。要視祭司為聖潔的，因為他們負責獻你們上帝的食物。要視他們為聖潔的，因為使你們聖潔的我——耶和華是聖潔的。如果有祭司的女兒做妓女，辱沒自己，她就是辱沒自己的父親，必須燒死她。「大祭司在眾祭司中職分最高，頭上澆過膏油，已經承受聖職、穿上聖衣，他不可披頭散髮、撕裂衣服。他不可接近死者，即使是父母也不可，以免玷污自己。他不可因喪事走出他上帝的聖所，以免褻瀆聖所，因為我的膏油已經使他聖潔。我是耶和華。他必須娶處女為妻，不可娶寡婦、被休的女人或妓女，只可娶本族中的處女為妻，以免在民中玷污自己的子孫，因為我是使他們聖潔的耶和華。」

以色列人犯了罪，違背了我吩咐他們應守的約，偷拿了本該毀滅的東西放在自己的行囊裡，還撒謊。
