The Lord called to Moses from the Tabernacle and said to him,

The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting. He said,

Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The Lord called to him from the mountain and said,“ Give these instructions to the family of Jacob; announce it to the descendants of Israel:

I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.

“ These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord’s presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you.

Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

It was Moses’ practice to take the Tent of Meeting and set it up some distance from the camp. Everyone who wanted to make a request of the Lord would go to the Tent of Meeting outside the camp.

Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.”

Then the Lord instructed Moses:“ Come up here to me, and bring along Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel’s elders. All of you must worship from a distance.Only Moses is allowed to come near to the Lord. The others must not come near, and none of the other people are allowed to climb up the mountain with him.”

And so at last the Tabernacle was finished. The Israelites had done everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.
