Those who pursue us are at our heels; we are weary and find no rest.

我們被追趕，有軛在脖子上；我們勞勞碌碌，得不到歇息。

追者及我、扼我頸項、困憊不得休息兮、

我項服役、勤勞不息兮。

我項負軛、被人逼迫、困憊已甚、不得休息、

Those who chase us are right behind us. We’re tired and can’t get any rest.

Our pursuers are at our necks; we are weary; we are given no rest.

Those who pursue us are at our heels; we are exhausted but are given no rest.

We are closely pursued; we are tired, and no one offers us rest.

Our pursuers are at our necks; We are worn out, we are given no rest.

They pursue at our heels; We labor and have no rest.

Our pursuers are upon our necks: We are weary, and have no rest.

We are closely pursued; we are tired, and no one offers us rest.

Our necks[ are] under persecution: we labour,[ and] have no rest.

We are pursued– they are breathing down our necks; we are weary and have no rest.

Our pursuers are on our necks. We are weary, and have no rest.

“ But see, we are slaves today, slaves in the land you gave our ancestors so they could eat its fruit and the other good things it produces.Because of our sins, its abundant harvest goes to the kings you have placed over us. They rule over our bodies and our cattle as they please. We are in great distress.

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.’”

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

This is what the Lord said to me:“ Make a yoke out of straps and crossbars and put it on your neck.

“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand.

Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart.You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.

“ My sins have been bound into a yoke; by his hands they were woven together. They have been hung on my neck, and the Lord has sapped my strength. He has given me into the hands of those I cannot withstand.

Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?

But if any nation will bow its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let that nation remain in its own land to till it and to live there, declares the Lord.”’”I gave the same message to Zedekiah king of Judah. I said,“ Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and you will live.

Our pursuers were swifter than eagles in the sky; they chased us over the mountains and lay in wait for us in the desert.
