We are pursued– they are breathing down our necks; we are weary and have no rest.

追者及我、扼我頸項、困憊不得休息兮、

我項服役、勤勞不息兮。

我項負軛、被人逼迫、困憊已甚、不得休息、

Those who pursue us are at our heels; we are weary and find no rest.

Those who chase us are right behind us. We’re tired and can’t get any rest.

Our pursuers are at our necks; we are weary; we are given no rest.

Those who pursue us are at our heels; we are exhausted but are given no rest.

We are closely pursued; we are tired, and no one offers us rest.

Our pursuers are at our necks; We are worn out, we are given no rest.

They pursue at our heels; We labor and have no rest.

Our pursuers are upon our necks: We are weary, and have no rest.

Our necks[ are] under persecution: we labour,[ and] have no rest.

“ So today we are slaves! In the very land you gave to our ancestors to eat its fruit and to enjoy its good things– we are slaves!Its abundant produce goes to the kings you have placed over us due to our sins. They rule over our bodies and our livestock as they see fit, and we are in great distress!

For the LORD God of Israel who rules over all says,“ I have put an irresistible yoke of servitude on all these nations so they will serve King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. And they will indeed serve him. I have even given him control over the wild animals.”’”

Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

instead in hunger, thirst, nakedness, and poverty you will serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you. They will place an iron yoke on your neck until they have destroyed you.

The LORD told me,“ Make a yoke out of leather straps and wooden crossbars and put it on your neck.

But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to him. I, the LORD, affirm that I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it with war, starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.

Among those nations you will have no rest nor will there be a place of peaceful rest for the soles of your feet, for there the LORD will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a spirit of despair.Your life will hang in doubt before you; you will be terrified by night and day and will have no certainty of surviving from one day to the next.

My sins are bound around my neck like a yoke; they are fastened together by his hand. He has placed his yoke on my neck; he has sapped my strength. The Lord has handed me over to those whom I cannot resist.ס( Samek)

So now why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?

Things will go better for the nation that submits to the yoke of servitude to the king of Babylon and is subject to him. I will leave that nation in its native land. Its people can continue to farm it and live in it. I, the LORD, affirm it!”’”I told King Zedekiah of Judah the same thing. I said,“ Submit to the yoke of servitude to the king of Babylon. Be subject to him and his people. Then you will continue to live.
