Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and[ there is] no healing for us? we looked for peace, and[ there is] no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness,[ and] the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.Do not abhor[ us], for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?[ How long] shall they utter[ and] speak hard things?[ and] all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth[ his] promise fail for evermore?Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? How long, LORD? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

O God, why hast thou cast[ us] off for ever?[ why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we[ are] all thy people.Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.Wilt thou refrain thyself for these[ things], O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
