Even jackals offer the breast, They nurse their young; But the daughter of my people has proved herself cruel, Like ostriches in the wilderness.

野狗尚且把奶乳哺其子，我民的妇人倒成为残忍，好像旷野的鸵鸟一般。

野狗尚且哺乳其子，我百姓的妇人反倒残忍，如旷野的鸵鸟一般；

野狗尚且哺乳其子，我百姓的妇人反倒残忍，如旷野的鸵鸟一般；

豺狼尚且哺养自己的幼儿，我的子民却像荒野的鸵鸟一样残忍无情。

野狗尚且用乳房哺养它们的幼儿；但我的众民变得多么残忍，像旷野的鸵鸟一样。

Even jackals offer their breasts to nurse their young, but my people have become heartless like ostriches in the desert.

Even wild dogs nurse their young pups. But my people are as mean as ostriches in the desert.

“ The wings of the ostrich flap joyously, With the pinion and feathers of love,For she abandons her eggs to the earth And warms them in the dust,And she forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a wild animal may trample them.She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor is for nothing, she is unconcerned,

The hands of compassionate women Boiled their own children; They became food for them Due to the destruction of the daughter of my people.

And it will besiege you in all your towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout your land, and it will besiege you in all your towns throughout your land which the Lord your God has given you.Then you will eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you, during the siege and the hardship by which your enemy will oppress you.The man who is refined and very delicate among you will be hostile toward his brother, toward the wife he cherishes, and toward the rest of his children who are left,so that he will not give even one of them any of the flesh of his children which he will eat, since he has nothing else left, during the siege and the hardship by which your enemy will oppress you in all your towns.The refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and tenderness, will be hostile toward the husband she cherishes and toward her son and daughter,and toward her afterbirth that comes from between her legs, and toward her children to whom she gives birth, because she will eat them secretly for lack of anything else, during the siege and the hardship with which your enemy will oppress you in your towns.

See, Lord, and look! With whom have You dealt this way? Should women really eat their children, The little ones who were born healthy? Should priest and prophet really be killed In the sanctuary of the Lord?

Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

But Jesus turned to them and said,“ Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.For behold, days are coming when they will say,‘ Blessed are those who cannot bear, and the wombs that have not given birth, and the breasts that have not nursed.’

without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful;

And as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying,“ Help, my lord the king!”But he said,“ If the Lord does not help you, from where am I to help you? From the threshing floor, or from the wine press?”Then the king said to her,“ What is on your mind?” And she said,“ This woman said to me,‘ Give your son so that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’So we cooked my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day,‘ Give your son, so that we may eat him’; but she has hidden her son.”

“ Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
