他們吊起首領的手，也不尊敬老人的面。

護衛長拿住大祭司西萊雅、副祭司西番亞，和三個把門的，又從城中拿住一個管理兵丁的官，並在城裏所遇常見王面的五個人和檢點國民軍長的書記，以及城裏遇見的國民六十個人。護衛長尼布撒拉旦將這些人帶到在利比拉的巴比倫王那裏。巴比倫王就把他們擊殺在哈馬地的利比拉。這樣，猶大人被擄去離開本地。

「耶和華必使你敗在仇敵面前，你從一條路去攻擊他們，必從七條路逃跑。你必在天下萬國中拋來拋去。

所以，耶和華使迦勒底人的王來攻擊他們，在他們聖殿裏用刀殺了他們的壯丁，不憐恤他們的少男處女、老人白叟。耶和華將他們都交在迦勒底王手裏。

他們的怒氣暴烈可咒；他們的忿恨殘忍可詛。我要使他們分居在雅各家裏，散住在以色列地中。

不像我拉着他們祖宗的手，領他們出埃及的時候，與他們所立的約。因為他們不恆心守我的約，我也不理他們。這是主說的。

我說，我必將他們分散遠方，使他們的名號從人間除滅。

耶和華必使你們分散在萬民中，從地這邊到地那邊，你必在那裏事奉你和你列祖素不認識、木頭石頭的神。在那些國中，你必不得安逸，也不得落腳之地；耶和華卻使你在那裏心中跳動，眼目失明，精神消耗。

我必使他們交出來，在天下萬國中拋來拋去，遭遇災禍；在我趕逐他們到的各處成為凌辱、笑談、譏刺、咒詛。

又必使他們在天下萬國中拋來拋去，都因猶大王希西家的兒子瑪拿西在耶路撒冷所行的事。」

然而，他聽見他們哀告的時候，就眷顧他們的急難，

我要把你們散在列邦中；我也要拔刀追趕你們。你們的地要成為荒場；你們的城邑要變為荒涼。「你們在仇敵之地居住的時候，你們的地荒涼，要享受眾安息；正在那時候，地要歇息，享受安息。地多時為荒場，就要多時歇息；地這樣歇息，是你們住在其上的安息年所不能得的。至於你們剩下的人，我要使他們在仇敵之地心驚膽怯。葉子被風吹的響聲，要追趕他們；他們要逃避，像人逃避刀劍，無人追趕，卻要跌倒。無人追趕，他們要彼此撞跌，像在刀劍之前。你們在仇敵面前也必站立不住。你們要在列邦中滅亡；仇敵之地要吞吃你們。你們剩下的人必因自己的罪孽和祖宗的罪孽在仇敵之地消滅。
