众领袖被敌人吊起来；长老也不受人尊敬。

护卫长拿住祭司长西莱雅、副祭司长西番亚和三个守门的；又从城里拿住一个管理军兵的官长，并且在城里搜获常见王面的五个人，和一个负责召募当地人民的军长书记，又在城中搜获六十个当地的人民。护卫长尼布撒拉旦把他们拿住，带到利比拉巴比伦王那里。巴比伦王击杀他们，在哈马地的利比拉把他们处死。这样，犹大人被掳，离开了他们的国土。

耶和华必使你在仇敌面前被击败；你从一条路出去攻击他们，必在他们面前从七条路逃跑；你必成为天下万国惊骇的对象。

耶和华使迦勒底人的王上来攻打他们，在他们的圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，少男和少女以及年老衰弱的，他们都不怜惜；耶和华把所有这些人都交在迦勒底王的手里。

我必使他们成为地上万国所惊恐、所讨厌的；在我赶逐他们到的各地方，成为被人羞辱、讥笑、嘲弄、咒诅的对象。

“因犹大王希西家的儿子玛拿西在耶路撒冷的所作所为，我必使地上万国看见他们的遭遇就惊恐。”

可是他听到了他们哀叫的时候，就垂顾他们的苦难。

我要把你们分散在万国中，我又拔出刀来追赶你们；你们的地成为荒凉，你们的城市变成荒场。“当那地荒凉，你们又住在仇敌之地的时候，地就享受安息；那地要休歇，享受安息。因为你们居住在那里的时候，地不能在你们的安息年中享受安息，唯有在荒凉的日子，才可享安息。至于你们剩下的人，我必使他们在仇敌之地胆战心惊；风吹落叶也会吓跑他们；他们必逃跑，好像逃避刀剑一样；虽然无人追赶，他们却跌倒。虽然无人追赶，他们却像面临刀剑，彼此撞跌；你们在仇敌面前，不能站立得住。你们要在万国中灭亡；仇敌之地必吞灭你们。你们剩下的人，必因自己的罪孽在仇敌之地消灭，也因犯了祖先的罪孽日渐衰弱。
