Now they grope through the streets as if they were blind. They are so defiled with blood that no one dares to touch their garments.

Now those prophets and priests have to feel their way along the streets as if they were blind. The blood of those they killed has made them“ unclean.” So no one dares to touch their clothes.

Also on your skirts is found The lifeblood of the innocent poor; You did not find them breaking in. But in spite of all these things,

So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.

The Lord will strike you with insanity, blindness, and with confusion of mind;and you will be groping about at noon, just as a person who is blind gropes in the darkness, and you will not be successful in your ways; but you will only be oppressed and robbed all the time, with no one to save you.

being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

We stumble at midday as in the twilight; Among those who are healthy we are like the dead.All of us growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We hope for justice, but there is none; For salvation, but it is far from us.

There is oath taking, denial, murder, stealing, and adultery. They employ violence, so that bloodshed follows bloodshed.
