They have wandered[ as] blind[ men] in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.

Now they grope through the streets as if they were blind. They are so defiled with blood that no one dares to touch their garments.

Now those prophets and priests have to feel their way along the streets as if they were blind. The blood of those they killed has made them“ unclean.” So no one dares to touch their clothes.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness,[ but] we walk in darkness.We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if[ we had] no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night;[ we are] in desolate places as dead[ men].We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but[ there is] none; for salvation,[ but] it is far off from us.

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
