The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own authority. My people love it like this. But what will you do at the end of it?

For from the least to the greatest of them, everyone is making profit dishonestly. From prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely.

Your prophets saw visions for you that were empty and deceptive; they did not reveal your iniquity and so restore your fortunes. They saw pronouncements for you that were empty and misleading.

Her priests do violence to my instruction and profane my holy things. who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. They displease God and are hostile to everyone,by keeping us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. As a result, they are constantly filling up their sins to the limit, and wrath has overtaken them at last.
