众水流过我头，我说：“我命断绝了！”

众水淹没我的头，我说：“我没命了！”

水已经漫过我的头，我想我要灭亡了。

水淹过我的头，我说：“我要死了！”

眾水流過我頭，我說：我命斷絕了！

眾水淹沒我的頭，我說：「我沒命了！」

the waters closed over my head, and I thought I was about to perish.

The water rose and covered my head. I thought I was going to die.

You threw me into the deep waters, into the middle of the sea; the ocean current engulfed me; all the mighty waves you sent swept over me.I thought I had been banished from your sight, that I would never again see your holy temple!Water engulfed me up to my neck; the deep ocean surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.

Then he said to me,“ Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying,‘ Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’

Don’t let the current overpower me! Don’t let the deep swallow me up! Don’t let the pit devour me!

So I said,“ My endurance has expired; I have lost all hope of deliverance from the Lord.”ז( Zayin)

The water would have overpowered us; the current would have overwhelmed us.The raging water would have overwhelmed us.

The waves of death engulfed me, the currents of chaos overwhelmed me.

“ I thought,‘ In the middle of my life I must walk through the gates of Sheol, I am deprived of the rest of my years.’“ I thought,‘ I will no longer see the LORD in the land of the living, I will no longer look on humankind with the inhabitants of the world.My dwelling place is removed and taken away from me like a shepherd’s tent. I rolled up my life like a weaver rolls cloth; from the loom he cuts me off. You turn day into night and end my life.I cry out until morning; like a lion he shatters all my bones; you turn day into night and end my life.

I jumped to conclusions and said,“ I am cut off from your presence!” But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

Deliver me, O God, for the water has reached my neck.I sink into the deep mire where there is no solid ground; I am in deep water, and the current overpowers me.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, regarding the affliction that happened to us in the province of Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of living.Indeed we felt as if the sentence of death had been passed against us, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.He delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him that he will deliver us yet again,

My days have passed, my plans are shattered, even the desires of my heart.These men change night into day; they say,‘ The light is near in the face of darkness.’If I hope for the grave to be my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,If I cry to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ and to the worm,‘ My Mother,’ or‘ My sister,’where then is my hope? And my hope, who sees it?Will it go down to the barred gates of death? Will we descend together into the dust?”
