Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.

众水流过我头，我说：“我命断绝了！”

众水淹没我的头，我说：“我没命了！”

the waters closed over my head, and I thought I was about to perish.

The water rose and covered my head. I thought I was going to die.

For thou didst cast me into the depth, in the heart of the seas, And the flood was round about me; All thy waves and thy billows passed over me.And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; The deep was round about me; The weeds were wrapped about my head.

Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.

Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.

And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul;Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

The cords of death compassed me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years.I said, I shall not see Jehovah, even Jehovah in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life; he will cut me off from the loom: From day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.I quieted myself until morning; as a lion, so he breaketh all my bones: From day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, When I cried unto thee.

Save me, O God; For the waters are come in unto my soul.I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:who delivered us out of so great a death, and will deliver: on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, Even the thoughts of my heart.They change the night into day: The light, say they, is near unto the darkness.If I look for Sheol as my house; If I have spread my couch in the darkness;If I have said to corruption, Thou art my father; To the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister;Where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who shall see it?It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, When once there is rest in the dust.
